This presentation introduces the topic of artificial intelligence (AI) in the health sector, provides an overview of relevant obligations under PHIPA, and include a summary of the risks that health information custodians should be aware of when engaging with AI technologies. The presentation concludes with a discussion of some of the privacy considerations related to the development, maintenance, procurement, implementation, and use of AI technologies in the health sector.
