This presentation introduces the topic of artificial intelligence (AI) in the health sector, provides an overview of relevant obligations under PHIPA, and include a summary of the risks that health information custodians should be aware of when engaging with AI technologies. The presentation concludes with a discussion of some of the privacy considerations related to the development, maintenance, procurement, implementation, and use of AI technologies in the health sector. Presented to March of Dimes Canada on December 3^rd, 2024.
