Right to Know Week

September 25, 2016, 8pm - 8pm

Every year 40 countries and 60 organizations recognize this week, raising awareness and promoting freedom of information as essential to democracy and good governance. This year, our office will be highlighting Right to Know Week at our Reaching Out to Ontario event in London, Ontario, featuring presentations on current access and privacy issues.

Our office has, and always will, support the idea of a transparent and accountable government. In fact, we have publicly supported the Ontario government’s Open Government initiative and made a number of recommendations for its Open by Default report. We were pleased to see that the province accepted our recommendation to publish contract information as Open Data.
