Commissioner Coming to Hamilton - May 11
The Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC) will host a special event in Hamilton on Friday, May 11, at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre, West 5th Campus. This event is part of the IPC’s Reaching Out to Ontario program.
Commissioner Brian Beamish, along with executives from the IPC, will update Ontarians on the emerging access and privacy issues currently facing the province’s health and public sectors. The Commissioner will give an overview of the latest developments at the IPC, including new legislation, mandatory breach reporting for the health sector, big data, the challenges of CCTV surveillance, and the IPC’s new role related to the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.
Two panel sessions will follow. One will cover access and privacy issues in detail while the other will explore mandatory breach reporting in the health sector and new code of procedure for matters under PHIPA.
