IPC Coming to Sudbury

We’re heading to Sudbury for the next Reaching Out to Ontario event

I’m pleased to announce that the IPC executive team will visit Sudbury on Friday, October 11, to host our 11th Reaching Out to Ontario event, at Collège Boréal.

I look forward to visiting “Nickel City” and to updating Ontarians on the emerging access and privacy issues currently facing the province’s health, government, and child and family services sectors. My overview will touch on the latest developments at the IPC, including new legislation, mandatory breach reporting for the health sector, the implications of smart cities on individual privacy , and the IPC’s new role related to the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.

Two concurrent panel sessions will follow my presentation. One will discuss new and updated PHIPA guidance and other emerging issues in the health sector while the other session will discuss new responsibilities of Ontario’s child and family services sector under Part X of the Child, Youth and Family Services Act, which takes effect January 1, 2020.

There will be plenty of time to answer your pressing questions about the law, your responsibilities, and the IPC’s processes, so come prepared for a lively conversation!

While this is a free event, we ask that you RSVP to [email protected] by October 9 and let us know which of the concurrent sessions you would like to attend. Thank you.
