Loss of personal health information due to theft of 24 laptop computers. The personal health information on the laptops was encrypted.
Resolved through informal resolution. The health information custodian increased security measures in the building where the computers were kept and created a policy on safe laptop usage.
Section 12(2) notification was fulfilled by the health information custodian by way of written letter and verbal notification.
